Pregnancy and Parenting Resources
Detroit Mercy is committed to ensuring that students who are pregnant, experiencing pregnancy-related conditions, or parenting have access to an inclusive and supportive environment that helps them succeed academically. Our Pregnant and Parenting Students Policy provides guidance on the steps students should take to access resources and support for their academic success.
In accordance with University policy and Title IX regulations, Detroit Mercy does not discriminate against any student or exclude them from educational programs or activities based on pregnancy or related condition.
Pregnancy-related conditions include pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, lactation and medical conditions related to and recovery from those circumstances.
Students who are pregnant or managing related conditions are entitled to reasonable modifications to support continued access to their programs and activities.
For questions or concerns about policies affecting pregnant or parenting students, please contact Title IX Coordinator Megan Novell at 313-993-1802 or novellme@udmercy.edu.
