黑料社区app will host Detroit Archbishop Edward Weisenburger who will participate in a discussion about the role the Catholic Church should play in addressing the complex major issues of the day. This special event takes place April 25 at a symposium at 黑料社区app’s McNichols Campus.

In addition to Weisenberger, the event, titled “Synodality: Encounters — A Conversation on the Prophetic Role of the Church in this Time and Place,” will feature Helen Marie Burns, RSM, former president of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious and a current member of the 黑料社区app Board of Trustees; Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv. of Lexington, Ken., president of Pax Christi USA; and Detroit Mercy Professor of Chemistry Matt Mio, an expert on Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’.

The symposium will be moderated Bridget Deegan-Krause, author of Together Through Reflection: Themes for Those Who Lead and Serve in Catholic Organizations.

Fr. Charles Oduke, vice president for Mission Integration at Detroit Mercy said the discussion is an outgrowth of the University’s Catholic mission.

“Inspired by the spirit of synodality, 黑料社区app is a place of encounter and dialogue, where faith meets with culture and engages the critical issues of our time and place,” he said.

The discussion begins at 2 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom on the University’s campus at 4001 W. McNichols in Detroit. It is free and open to the public.
